7 years ago, I suffered a major health scare that changed my life. From that experience, I have educated myself on the healing power of nutrition and overall wellness in our mind, body, and soul. It is all a perfect storm that comes together, one step and decision at a time. My goal is to empower and motivate others through mindful nutritional choices and planning.
Hey! So happy to welcome you and walk alongside you on your health journey! I believe we all have the ability to RECLAIM and REJOICE in our health!
Hi! I’m Melissa King and I’m a certified health coach and personal trainer specializing in helping women overcome their anxiety and depression so they can be more productive, have more energy, and live an abundant life.
I believe that in order to create healthy lifestyle habits that are sustainable you must do this one step at a time. I teach behavior change techniques that can be personalized to fit any lifestyle. I have learned most of this from personal experience having overcome anxiety and depression myself.
Hi! I work well with women, especially women with PCOS, to change their lifestyle and environment for symptom management.
I am a certified health coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and am now working on getting my Functional Medicine certification.
I apply Functional Medicine principles (finding out the root cause of your health concerns) to my coaching and use my personal PCOS experience when working alongside my clients.
As a Functional Medicine Health Coach, Melissa is skilled at using a variety of testing, symptoms, and personal and family history to get to the root of the disease process for her clients. She then creates a plan to reverse the disease dynamic in the body and create the best path of recovery.
I offer personal coaching as well as a 12-week program for Renewed Vitality and Weight Loss. I was able to REVERSE my own asthma, Hashimotos, pre-diabetes, skin rashes, and FLC (Feel Like Crap)!

Read MoreBrooklyn is a borough of New York City, coextensive with Kings County, in the U.S. state of New York. Named after the Dutch village of Breukelen, it shares a land border with the borough of Queens, on the western end of Long Island. Brooklyn has several bridge and tunnel connections to the borough of Manhattan across the East River and the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge connect it with Staten Island.
Brooklyn has played a major role in various aspects of American culture including literature, cinema, and theater. The Brooklyn accent has often been portrayed as the "typical New York accent" in American media, although this accent and stereotype are supposedly fading out.
Brooklyn hosts the world-renowned Brooklyn Academy of Music, the Brooklyn Philharmonic, and the second-largest public art collection in the United States, housed in the Brooklyn Museum. The Brooklyn Museum, opened in 1897, is New York City's second-largest public art museum. The Brooklyn Children's Museum, the world's first museum dedicated to children, opened in December 1899.
The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) includes a 2,109-seat opera house, an 874-seat theater, and the art-house BAM Rose Cinemas. Bargemusic and St. Ann's Warehouse are on the other side of Downtown Brooklyn in the DUMBO arts district. Brooklyn Technical High School has the second-largest auditorium in New York City (after Radio City Music Hall),
Per the Brooklyn Community Foundation, many Brooklynites, especially residents of public housing, have limited access to affordable healthy food and safe open spaces to play and be active. This is a growing concern as communities with high poverty rates also face soaring health challenges including obesity, asthma, and diabetes.
Through the Healthy Communities initiative, Brooklyn Community Foundation is connecting innovative efforts around food, open space, and fitness in three neighborhoods with high concentrations of public housing developments—Red Hook, Fort Greene, and Brownsville—to share resources and empower residents to enrich their environments and strengthen their communities, while developing new ways for nonprofits and city agencies to work together to improve public health.

The health coaching industry is exploding. A health coach certification allows you the capability to work in healthcare settings such as doctor's offices, with health insurers, at schools and universities, inside corporations, and in online programs. Or you can work for yourself, set your own hours and build your clientele.
Brooklyn's nearby health and wellness ecosystems of New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania leaves you with many local opportunities for education.
